Krishna Kumar Kunnath Menon
Krishna Kumar Kunnath popularly known as KK, is an Indian playback singer. He is a prominent singer in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films. KK was born in Kerela but brought up in New Delhi. He finished his education from the Delhi University and got his break while singing a jingle for a commercial. He appeared in Josh of India song for the support of Indian Cricket Team during Cricket World Cup 1999.
However it was his first album Pal that got him noticed. His songs like Aap Ki Dua and Yaaron became chartbusters. Though his first playback song was Chhod Aaye Hum (Maachis) it was the song Tadap Tadap, from the movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, that brought him into limelight. KK's second album Humsafar released on January 24 2008 but it didn't do as well as the previous one.
He went on to win the National Award for the song Tu Aashiqui Hai from the film Jhankaar Beats. Over the years KK has always delivered consistent hits like Awarapan Banjarapan from the film Jism, It's The Time To Disco from the film Kal Ho Naa Ho, Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai from the movie Gangster, O meri Jaan from the film Life in A Metro. He recently won a Star Screen Award for Best Male Playback Singer for the song Khuda Jaane from the film Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008)
His distinct yet contemporary voice has made him a favourite with top bollywood music directors like Pritam and Vishal-Shekhar.
