2008 Scorecard of B'wood actors
They are considered amongst the A-listers of Bollywood and are known to charge big money for their films. We take a look back at their films' performances in 2008 and present their current market standing.
Films in 2008: Tashan (flop), Singh Is Kinng (super hit) and animated flick Jumbo (flop)
Box office analysis: Akshay Kumar's dream run of consecutive hits came to a halt with the Tashan bombing at the box office. But his next release, Singh Is Kinng went on to become his biggest grosser of its time doing a business of Rs 107 crore. But the year ended on a sad note again for Akki as his voiced animated flick Jumbo could not survive the Ghajini mania.
Market Standing: It is learnt that Akshay charged his then full market rate (Rs 5 crore) while signing Tashan with Yash Raj whereas he involved himself with the distribution of Singh Is Kinng with his Hari Om Productions, apart from charging his regular acting fees.
While signing Jumbo, Singh is Kinng had already been declared a super hit, which led him to dictate terms to the producers. He charged a whopping Rs 9 crore for Jumbo, which now is being cited as the biggest reason for the film's losses.
Despite the recession in Bollywood, Akshay is still being offered an obscene amount of money by enthusiastic producers and he is taking his pick with one condition applied - he should also be involved as a co-producer, with zero investment from his side.

After watching d performance of srk & aamir in rab ne
bana d jodi & ghazini respectively, its much more
difficult 2 make an opinion abt who is better. It is their
hard work & talent which matters a lot and i think
everyone should praise their work without showing any bias.
Hey hrithik rocks in jodha akbar....But i think this year's
film fare award should go to aamir khan for gajni. But still
hrihik is the best and 2009 filmfare will definetly go to
hrithik. He is award winning machine since aug 2003. 2
awards for 4 films he had done between 8 aug 08 to 24 nov

amazing acting ability..What can u ask more in a single
actor.It is imposible to find such combination in a single
actor...But hrithik is hrithik.
Now one can understand why aamir is called 'a
perfectionist'. Though producers are ready to pay him
handsome amount in this recession time he is not accepting
anything. Because whatever he'll accept will give full
justice to that.
