Aamir lashes out at the Bawejas
Once known as media shy, actor Aamir Khan is now dealing with the media on a regular basis. As his nephew Imran's film releases this Friday, CNN-IBN asked Aamir to respond to all the allegations reported in the media.
Allegation 1: Aamir Khan ropes in the most good looking member of his family and also ropes in Mansoor khan to start his own camp.
Aamir Khan: No. I don't have any intentions of starting any camp. I did Jaane Tu... because it is a script that I liked. I thought Abbas would make it well. I think my production house would like to make films, which we believe in and the scripts that we like.
Allegation 2: You are trying to sabotage Love Story 2050?
Aamir Khan: From last month, I have been reading reports, and quotes of Harman and Harry and they have somehow got it into their heads that I am trying to sabotage Harman's career and their film. I am really not interested in doing that. It is not my style. I don't believe in sabotaging other people's work. I think that I believe in making my own films as well as I can and I believe in promoting my films as well as I can. These are very absurd allegations. Next Harry may say that I sabotaged last three or four of his film. It is unfortunate that Harry is saying all this because I thought we were good friends and I had also spoken to him about the film.
Allegation 3: Did he call you and ask you to push your dates?
Aamir Khan: Yes, he did and I was unable to. It is a free country and he can push his dates as well. If he is so uncomfortable about releasing his film on the same date, then he should push his date of release. I am not forcing him to change his date and I don't see why he should ask me to change mine.
Allegation 4: Newspaper reported that you knew that Harman was going for Dus Ka Dum and if you make yourself available for Dus Ka Dum, then you would be the first choice.
Aamir Khan: That is not true. Dus Ka Dum happened quite spontaneously. I happened to see Salman's first show and I messaged him saying that I really enjoyed his first episode and it was great fun and I was congratulating him on that and in a day or two he messaged me asking me to come on the show. And I said sure. I said, it is a great show and if you want me to come, I'll come and he said bring Imran along and I said of course. It is something that Salman asked me to do. I have no idea who else Sony is inviting and not inviting.
