Sherlyn Chopra exposes herself
Just before meeting Sherlyn Chopra at her plush apartment in Andheri, one notices a wall hanging which says 'God help you if you are an ugly girl, because too pretty is also your doom,' cause everyone harbours a secret hatred for the prettiest girl in the room. Since Sherlyn Chopra has the looks, which are the envy of many and a body to-die-for, what is this strange trend of thought? 'Exactly!' she says making herself comfortable in a beanbag with a steaming mug of coffee. "Well, most people are not allowed to visit me at home so they don't know about this. But I was really average to look at as a child.
On a more serious note she adds "When kids of my age would get all the attention at birthday parties, I would feel lost. I used to ask my mother why I wasn’t I as pretty as them? My mother would lovingly embrace me and explain that I was the best. As a kid I used to believe her, but soon I realised that was lying to me. When I planned to join the world of glamour, both my immediate family and my relatives discouraged me. They thought, with this face and figure what chance does she have of becoming a star. They were correct, so I defied the rules of nature and fought my own battle," she says.
Sherlyn's battle was with her bulges, and she started grooming herself, "I won theMiss Andhra Pradesh beauty pageant but I knew this title could not become my ticket to Bollywood. Given my weight, I thought I would end up as another Disco Shanti or Silk Smita. Then I thought of going through liposuction and my doctor helped me to attain my dream body," she admits without hesitation.
While most stars seem to be following a diet and reducing their weight in a healthy fashion why has she opted for a surgery? "You must be kidding?" she said. "You think these actress lose weight by just following diet chart? In fact most of the stars have gone under the scissors. Some are courageous enough to talk about it, while others pretend to be morally correct," she adds.
