'Rahul will always be special to me'

Bigg Boss 2 has not been kind to women of late and this was further justified by Monica Bedi's eviction, who unfortunately didn't make the final cut despite getting a wild card entry in the later stages of the show. A very relaxed and relieved Monica gets candid about her second stint in BB2 house.

Firstly Monica, why are women being unceremoniously dumped from the Bigg Boss 2 house?

(Laughs) It is practically impossible for a female housemate to survive in there. Not only do men try to get rid of us but also women consistently vote each other out during nominations.

Are you a bit disappointed to be evicted, considering you made it this far in the show?

Of course I'm a bit disappointed, it would have been fantastic had I been through to the final four. My purpose of entering the show was not winning, but letting the people know the real Monica Bedi, after all the bad press I had to endure over the past year.

So do you think you have managed to achieve your objective?

Initially before entering the BB2 house, it was extremely difficult for me to get a flat or even rent one for that matter, in Mumbai. People already had a preconceived notion about me as a person and I actually don't really blame them for that. But after my first eviction from BB2 I had seen a tremendous change in people's outlook towards me as an individual. They were more responsive and definitely more helpful.

Before entering the BB2 house a second time, as a wild card entrant, did you devise any kind of strategy for your survival?

No, I did not enter the house with that mentality at all. I wanted to take each day as it comes because that was the only way I would be able to enjoy my stay at BB2.

What difference did you notice when you entered the house for a second time?

I actually didn't see a huge amount of difference; the housemates were extremely cordial towards me and welcomed me with open arms. In terms of the politics being played in the house, it's only a natural progression that takes place at the latter stages of the game as everyone wants to win it.

Your spat with Diana was highly publicised and it was no big secret that you'll didn't get along. Would you like to comment on that?

Diana and me just had a minor argument and that's about it. She was a bit irritated because I nominated Ashu (because he was behind all the politics in the house). Her behaviour was a bit surprising considering she is so level headed and mature otherwise. But Diana's major problem was that she had to have an opinion towards everything and every situation even though she wasn't directly involved in it, in the first place.

Now leading up to the most inevitable question. Rahul has been pretty open about his feelings for you; do you see yourself giving your relationship a chance when BB2 finally concludes?

(Smiles) Rahul is an amazing person, a good friend and will always be special to me. But you have to understand that BB2 house is another world in itself. The circumstances and the situations in the house are different. We'll have to come out and see for ourselves whether things would work out or no, considering each one has their own life to live. But if Rahul and I are destined, then things will surely work out.
