Big B's Bhojpuri flick takes on OSO

Reports of Shah Rukh Khan taking on Amitabh Bachchan have often been doing the rounds. So this piece of news may indeed come as a breath of fresh air. Because for a change it isn't the Khan but Amitabh Bachchan who is following in the other's footsteps. Bachchan's film Gangotri will hit the screens on the very same day as Om Shanti Om and Saawariya.

Gangotri, however, isn't a Hindi film but a Bhojpuri-Hindi bi-lingual. And this one is actually a sequel! The Bhojpuri superhit Ganga, earned producer Deepak Sawant so much, that the fellow decided to make a part two and call it Gangotri.

Confirming the news Deepak Sawant said, "We are not afraid of Saawariya and Om Shanti Om. I am sure that just like Ganga, this film too will break all records. We will release it with about 250 prints all over the country."

In Bihar the producer has blocked all the cinema halls, a first of sorts in the Bhojpuri film industry. Sawant continues, "Gangotri will begin where Ganga ended. Hema Malini will make a brief appearance. And apart from Amitji and Hemaji, the movie also stars Bhoomika Chawla, Manoj Tiwari, Aroona Irani and Kunal Singh."

Deepak Sawant has been Amitabh's make-up man for almost three decades before turning to production and making it big in the Bhojpuri film industry.
