Breaking News: A sting operation
It's a new Koel Purie film and it's called It's Breaking News. The film aims to throw light on the cut-throat world of news media. Koel plays Vidya, a young, dynamic news correspondent, covering the entertainment beat. She is pretty happy with her job until she is moved to the crime beat. Though a little hesitant initially, Vidya overcomes the hurdles that come her way, and gets into the groove of the job, enjoying the thrills that come with it. However, in a bid to 'break' news, she begins to overlook the ethics and codes of journalism, by 'creating' situations.
Vidya's so-called big break comes in the form of a distress call from a sexually harassed girl, whom she plans to shoot in a 'sting' operation. The idea is to cover 'the event' live, in other words, shoot while the victim is being raped!
Shocking, isn't it? To find out more about what happens to Vidya's 'special' assignment, we suggest you watch the film. Meanwhile, here's an exclusive trailer from It's Breaking News.
Besides Koel, the film stars Nandita Puri, Vinay Apte, Harsh Chhaya, Atul Parchure among others and is directed by Vishal Inamdar. Koel is also part of N Chandra's similarly titled film – Breaking News. She is also part of the Sanjay Dutt-starrer Alibaug.
For those who came in late, Koel Purie is daughter of media honcho Arun Poorie.

Ofcourse, its just business for them. Are journos really
trying to bring out the truth ?
Very true. The recent pictures we saw of a chain snatcher
being beaten up and the other 'exclusive' items smacks of
this sort of competition. A very telling and sad commentary
of the media today.
