Koena Mitra's nose comes clean
After almost a year of speculation over whether Koena Mitra paid to have her lovely face enhanced, the truth is out for all to know. In an exclusive interview with Bombay Times, the actress revealed the trials and tribulations over her nose job. [Read: Koena's lips are real]
"Lensmen and makeup artists used to tell me, 'Koenaji you could get a sharper nose if you go in for surgery. Everyone does it these days.'" the actress said, explaining why she decided to go in for plastic surgery to begin with. "It was a wrong decision I took and I don't blame anyone for it. I didn't even tell my parents. Now I wish I had told my mom."
The actress further explained that it wasn't an implant but just a simple nose 'correction' which unfortunately went severely wrong. [Read: Koena is changing and how!]
"Soon after the surgery my friends started saying I looked better before," says the actress. "I too didn't like what I saw in the mirror. It was depressing." [Read: Koena on 'bitchy Bombay women']
The actress then noticed that the bone next to her nose started to swell which made her cheeks swell up. People thus began to conclude that she had surgically enhanced her entire face. To make matter worse, the actress also had a scar on her nose.
She thus decided to go back to the same doctor to correct whatever it was that went wrong. And a few months ago she went under the knife to get rid of the scar. In addition she underwent three months of medication before she could get better. [In pics: Tanushree-Koena's 'make-up' lessons]
The actress, who is now absolutely fit and fine is taking things easy and looking forward to work coming her way. Having stressed a great deal over her looks, the actress opines that these of things aren’t unheard of in this industry where people often tend to idolise more than iconise.
"I wish people learn from my mistake," says Koena. "Plastic surgery is the worst kept secret in the industry... Bollywood, Hollywood. It is a gamble." [Read: Koena's ticket to Hollywood?]
