B-Town damsel Koena Mitra will play a superwoman in a Hollywood project in collaboration with Pritish Nandy Communication (PNC). Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom may star in this 70 crore-budget SFX film.
This is for the first time in the history of Indian cinema, that any Indian actress will be playing the role of a superwoman in a Hollywood production. Actress Koena Mitra as been signed by a Hollywood studio for a 70 crore budget SFX film. Tentatively titled as Karna, she plays the role of a lady with super powers.
This special effects film to be shot in Hong Kong and China will be released by August 2008. The post-production work will stretch for five months after the shoot is completed. This English film will enjoy a worldwide release.
According to our sources, "Koena went for training in tai-chi and other forms of martial arts for the film in May and June. She also did a teaser for them, which will be aired by the end of this year." Incidentally, the production house from LA, wanted Pritish Nandy to recommend the name of an actor who would do justice to this role.
"It was a tough role to play and requires an amazing body. Koena has been a super model and she has an Indian face to go with her toned body. Barring Esha Deol and Bipasha Basu, no one in Bollywood can boast of such a body," says our source.
Pritish Nandy apparently had sent them the DVD of Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena and after viewing the film, they decided to sign Koena for the film. The film will have two directors, one from USA who will be directing the talkie portion and the SFX segment will be directed by someone from Hong Kong.
