Salman Khan beat Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan hands down by shooting the most expensive Hindi film number ever. The song of Salman's forthcoming film, Anil Sharma's Veer cost the makers Rs 3.5 crore. Thus, it became the costliest, overtaking Ash-Hrithik's Azeem-O-Shaan Shahenshah from Jodhaa Akbar, which had cost Rs 2 crore to its producers.

The song was picturised at Mehboob Studios, Mumbai on Salman Khan, the unnamed debutante female lead (who apparently resembles Katrina), Mithun Chakraborty and Sohail Khan. Over 700 junior artistes were also used and it took 11 days to complete. The Jodhaa Akbar song had been picturised at Karjat with 2,000 junior artistes in 20 days.

Sharma, who's made some of the costliest Bollywood films, says, "Yes, it's true. The song cost us Rs 3.5 crore which included the sets and expensive costumes of main as well as junior artistes. This song is one of the highlights of this film."

On the new girl opposite Sallu, he says, "The heroine has been finalised and has already participated in this song, but we have not yet finalised her screen name."

According to Sharma, "Salman has given the best cooperation to this film. Wherever he goes, he talks about this film. My next schedule will commence from November in London."

Veer is a period film that will have Salman playing a Good Samaritan. Vijay Ghalani is producing the film directed by Anil Sharma. The music composers are Sajid-Wajid.
