SHOCKING! Multiplexes shun Big B

No one is willing to screen Amitabh Bachchan's bi-lingual film, Gangotri this Diwali

The release of Amitabh Bachchan's film Gangotri has been postponed by a month because no multiplexes want to screen it. Gangotri, a Bhojpuri-Hindi bilingual, is a sequel to the superhit Bhojpuri film – Ganga.

Gangotri was slated for a November 9 release, along with Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om and Ranbir Kapoor's Saawariya. Needless to say, producer Deepak Sawant is a very disappointed man. While this may have been his most ambitious project so far, the multiplex owners clearly don't want to miss out on the OSO-Saawariya wave.

Confirming the news, producer Deepak Sawant told us, "We did not manage to get enough theatres to screen the film. Saawariya and Om Shanti Om have blocked all the multiplexes. So December 16 is the only option we were left with."

Sawant who used to be a make-up man to Amitabh Bachchan made it big in the Bhojpuri film industry with Ganga. Gangotri, which stars the Big B along with Hema Malini, Bhoomika Chawla, Manoj Tiwari, and Aroona Irani is a sequel to this superhit.

Of course, it was senseless for big b (big besharam) to
compete with an srk film. Multiplex guys are not as stupid
as big b and his producer and hence chose srk's film over
big b's. Better luck next time, big b

Though there is much hype about oso and saawariya, one
should always remember that srk and amitabh have evoked many
a times such response but disappointed the public. Anyway
the producers should understand that releasing
"gangotri" a fortnight earlier or later of other
releases would have got it the required response.

and amitabh "the unrivalled king" of bollywood,
though has had some setbacks cannot be criticised because of
some personal grudges people hold against him bacause of his
some "personal superstitious beliefs", which
ofcourse have made more bad to his image than any good.
Anyway i cannot live without watching anyone of his
releases. Waiting for "gangotri".

mohammed

I cant care less abt the bachans.... Its good that there r
refusing his movies, sometimes its good to show them the
mirror and give them a reality check... That they are other
stars in the industry as well.

Good that movie is not screened. Who would want to watch
that buddah amitabh still - he is fit for nothing. He should
take a break and stop acting in movies and ads esp the ones
like durex.
