TAAQ to play at HRC
Original, unique, pioneering, defying categorisation and the limitations of genre, Thermal And A Quarter (TAAQ) is the voice of modern India that speaks the language of the world. Across its 12-year career, TAAQ has consistently demonstrated its drive to be present – in the future. And to be relevant, honest, and conscious of its roots even while setting its sights on the international stage.
TAAQ features the talents of Bruce Lee Mani (guitars, vocals), Rajeev Rajagopal (drums), and Rzhude David (bass, vocals). Several top-rung sessions musicians have shared stage and studio with TAAQ.
And they will play a special concert at Mumbai's prestigious Hard Rock Café on the 25th of November 2008. This will be TAAQ's first concert at the internationally renowned franchise.
Fresh from the online preview of the new album This Is It, TAAQ will play popular material culled from all four of its path-breaking albums, new never-heard-before material that will go into the band's next two records, and a selection of 'Thermalized' covers.
2008 has seen the band featured several times in Rolling Stone Magazine (with guitarist Bruce Lee Mani listed among 'India's Best Axemen'), as well being listed #48 on Blender Magazine's 'Top 100 Ultimate Bands', alongside the likes of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sonic Youth, Pink Floyd and more. TAAQ also supported Megadeth and Machine head in Bangalore this year.
At the Hard Rock Café, TAAQ will perform as a stripped-down lean-and-mean trio; featuring Bruce Lee Mani on guitars/vocals, Rzhude David on bass/vocals and Rajeev Rajagopal on drums.
