This weekend Om Shanti Om became the first mainstream Bollywood film to be premiered at the Empire Theatre in Leicester Square. The star of the film, Shah Rukh Khan, told the media how he wanted to make 'the first Indian film that the world watches'. And so even as the British press wrote off the film as one 'where you'd rather keep your logic at home', thousands of SRK fans braved the heavy showers and ice-chilled gusts just to catch a glimpse of the Khan at the world premiere of his film. Indeed, no amount of diyas or lanterns could light up your Diwali as Shah Rukh did. After all you don't get an opportunity to click his snap and shake his hand every day, do you?

Needless to say Khan was the star of the evening, but Rampal, Deepika and Shreyas held fort too. Dressed in a traditional red dress, Deepika made her presence felt as did the rising star Shreyas Talpade, who seems to have quite a few fans here in the UK.
