REVIEW: Harry Potter 6
It has been about nine long years since the first Harry Potter movie hit the screens across the world. And the young boy wizard with his round glasses and cherubic innocence has indeed grown up to become a handsome young fellow.
Like most men his age, the young Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) feels the stirrings of love and deep down craves for the life of a normal teenager. But Potter is the Chosen One and he must pursue the larger cause.
In fact Harry wears this tag quite easily, even being cheeky about it at times. When Hermione (Emma Watson) tells him that a certain girl likes him only because she thinks he is the Chosen One, he replies: "But I am the Chosen One!"
Light-hearted moments such as this one often come as a relief from the foreboding tone of the film. And the latest edition in the Harry Potter franchise is very, very dark indeed.
As a matter of fact it is a far cry from the first, second and indeed the third film, which have more of a fun/adventure feel too it.
Significantly throughout this movie, Lord Voldemort – the reason behind all the troubles – does not put up an appearance at all!
We do see him as a young student Tom Riddle (played first by Hero Fiennes-Tiffin and then by Frank Dillane) craving to be immortal but never once as the grotesque figure we've seen in part four and five.
Indeed, the cinematography scores hugely in this film – managing to create the ominous mood (by Bruno Delbonnel) without once showing Potter's nemesis on screen.
The plot of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is by now well known and much read. It follows Harry, Hermione and Ron as they plunge into yet another year of adventure taking on the most powerful wizard of all time.
Half-Blood Prince also tells explores the relationship between Potter and Albus Dumbledore. The headmaster now looks at Potter – now in his late teens – more as a friend and an accomplice but also reminds him from time to time that he is no ordinary boy.

Buso busso 1 great movie
I loved this movie! Saw it 4 times already, hoping for a 5th
this weekend (with different people, of course!) i have
never compared a movie based on a book, because then it just
messes up the fun for some people. It's the same basic story
line, and the plot continues... It was well done, fun,
exciting, new.. I would easily give this movie a 5/5
each time was just as good as the first with this movie
(though, the first was a 12:00am opening) xp
i would advise anyone to watch this movie!
er. Gotta go
overall: great acting, great action, good plot! 5/5 a
thousand times over!
this probably didn't help anyone in deciding to go... I
rarely rave on about movies and though this would be a good
time to do so ^ - ^'
It was very hard for me to enjoy this movie. I was so mad
that most of the movie was made up and didn't follow the
book. I'm rather surprised that more people are not upset at
the way these movies are slowly steering away from the book
we all love. I understand not everything can be included,
but why make up stuff when you have a book with plenty of
good scenes already written for you. I'm actually afraid,
and not excited to see how they kill this story more in the
next two installments.
If u think ur a die hard harry potter fan ( even if ur not)
u need think twice before going to theatre second time to
watch this film. Unlike the previous films of potter series,
this one lacks that adventure with the camera.
actors did their part best , but the lack in proper
direction will be felt across the movie. But there are some
moments with ron(his romance) which wont make u feel boring.
Finally for the ones who read the book , this film is going
to be hard.
I am going to have to agree with the first guy... The movie
was indeed good. The acting was fantastic, but why stray so
far away from the book? It didn't make sense to me that they
would make alterations to even the tiny parts of the movie,
and then leave out so many of the big important parts as
well. The cinematics were fantastic but it was for a scene
not even in the book? Why not just follow the story line,
ill never understand that. Bottom line, great movie, loved
it, upset they didn't follow the book more closely!
This movie had a few exciting parts and was well acted.
Radcliffe, watson, grint and wright did fine jobs. Felton
had a surprising turn turning malfoy into a conflicted
patsy. However, the writers and directors dropped the ball
by sacrificing necessary and exciting parts of the books to
add in ridiculous scenes which added nothing but time to the
movie. If they had done the book as written, it would have
been much better. Fans all over the blogs are screaming
about the omissions and rightfully so. If this were an
o.W.L. The highest mark it would get would be acceptable.
It most certainly didn't exceed my expectations. In fact it
didn't even meet those of most people.
Hmm, i do not agree with you. You have given 3/5. I will
give the movie 4.5/5. Great work by albus , harry, ron!!
& even snape did good job.
