REVIEW: Pranali is a waste

The story that started somewhere by the end takes a million obscure turns and ends up in a completely different place. A bunch of unnecessary characters clutter the plot and help in confusing us thoroughly throughout the film. Half the characters, we feel could have been chopped off easily to make a cleaner, clutter free and definitely cheaper movie.

Also there are a lot of things that do not make any sense in the movie. For example, what was the point of Suzanne Bernert talking in hindi? Her hindi was awful and we do not blame her for it. Had we been speaking in Pali or Prakrit, we'd probably have done the same. Wonder what the director Hirdesh Kamble was thinking?

Also Pt. Birju Maharaj's talent was completely wasted in a meaningless dance sequence to depict the conflict going on in Pranali's mind.

The music was not much to talk about either. The songs ranged from tolerable to excruciating. A song main dalal tu dalal for example falls in the latter category.

Verdict: There's nothing to watch in the movie. There's no cinematographic brilliance to be seen. No direction or art direction to look out for. Even the once hot Garam Masala girl Nargis has put on weight. And since she can't act anyway the least we expected was a washboard tummy which is sadly no more.
