When I narrated the story of Right Yaaa Wrong to Sunny Deol, the first thing he asked me was, "Who would play the other character?" We discussed a couple of names and then Sunnyji suggested Irrfan's name.

I knew Irrfan since a long time. We had done a couple of shows together. He even did a very interesting role in a movie which I wrote, Ghaat. The movie did not work for many reasons but Irrfan was excellent in that film.

We met and I narrated him the script of Right Yaaa Wrong. He liked the script but he liked Sunny's role more than his. One more meeting later, he was still reluctant. You will be surprised to know that he was insecure to act opposite Sunny as he felt that Sunny had a better role. So, in spite of my assurances, Irrfan refused the role.

I was shocked! How could anyone refuse the role? It was an excellent character and no way lesser. But…

I started thinking about other actors and met Kay Kay. He loved the script and agreed to do the film immediately. So, I started pre-production of the movie but had not signed him as yet.

And you won’t believe it, just 15 days before starting the shoot and just before signing Kay Kay on the dotted line, I called Irrfan again and said to him, "Mark my words, you will repent not doing this film. It will be a landmark in your career. You are losing out on one of the best films of your life."

Irrfan got hooked. My supreme confidence amused him and asked himself, "Am I really losing out on one of the best films of my career?"

He called me and in this meeting with him I had nothing to lose. There was fire in my belly and I gave him all the confidence that I would do justice to his character, and he agreed.

Most of the time, I have seen that when you want something to happen and if it does not happen, you let go… And then it happens.

It is really a dream cast for me. You need to see it to believe it! Two fire brand intense actors blazing on the screen in 2008 summer.

Everything about Right Yaaa Wrong was happening right and how we got the showman Subhash Ghai to be with us is another very interesting story. Wait for the next update.
