Releasing Om Shanti Om and Saawariya on the same day was possibly a marketing strategy. But it may have been the biggest irony of their life for Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor, who were allegedly dating at one point. The affair however didn't last long. Apparently, when Deepika spoke to a section of the media about her 'close friendship' to Ranbir, the Kapoors were left fuming. Of course the other reason given by the media for the break-up was Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The director supposedly told his hero to give up Deepika simply because he didn't want the focus to shift away from Saawariya.
