He is freaking arrogant and that freaking arrogance suits him. Some people's over-smartness doesn't get them anywhere, but where SRK is today he doesn't need to go anywhere, does he? He can afford to use his wit and humour to make wisecracks even if it means it's at the cost of the entire film fraternity. Guess that was the reason he wore sunglasses at the Filmfare, because being arrogant that he is, he couldn't stand the sight of the audience!
