Abhishek gives up his dream car
Goldie Behl's film Drona involves a lot of sacrifices...or so it seems. It so appears that Abhishek Bachchan and a few others from the crew had to give up their dreams of owning an Alfa Romeo model also used in the film just because it was a left hand drive.
Well, it all started when the Prague schedule had to be cut short due to bad weather and the remaining shots had to be recreated in Mumbai. So the three state of the art models of yellow Alfa Romeo cars were brought down to the city. Now once the cars were in Mumbai, everybody including the leading man Abhishek, wanted to keep one for themselves. And who wouldn't?
And then is when they realised they couldn't. Since the cars were all bought in Europe, they had left hand drives and could not be used in India. The team was immensely disappointed.
Director Goldie Behl said, "We required the particular model of yellow car and we imported the same from Europe... We forgot to mention to them to send us right hand drive. Once they landed here we realised that apart from shooting we could not use the cars… so we finished our shoot and sent them back. But alas we all would have loved to keep one."
Well, in life we do have to make a lot of sacrifices right? Guess in films too the same applies!
